"As you knew probably already knew, I killed Misao… Well, she came back for revenge on me. You just visited me at the wrong time and she knew I cared about you so…"
Sohta stopped for a minute, to think out his words, and then he continued.
"Takano, I’m sorry and Misao said she was too. That person who hurt you wasn’t actually Misao. It’s just… This place does things to you, whether negative or positive, it depends on your situation, but she was kept here all alone with only her hate. So, it almost consumed her… I’m sorry that you had to go through that, and I’m sorry that Misao reached that level of anger. I- I don’t know what else I should say…"
He wondered if letting Takano stay here would be safe.
He didn’t want to let her go, not after years of longing for her, searching for someone like her… But he wondered if the danger would end here.
Out of all the moments in his life, his first murder, getting beaten up, murdering Misao, and the curse… Watching Takano suffer like that, was the most horrifying and painful thing he had ever experienced.
He thought she was going to die.
He felt sickened and terrified at the thought of that. If he had a heart rate, it would be beating faster than ever before.
So, he was going to ask her something.
"Takano… Would you like to leave and never come back?" He gazed at her, a very serious expression fixed upon his face. ”I can understand after yesterday’s events, but I just want to know myself, if it’s what you truly desire…”
She shook her head. “no… I like it here….. I’m willing to risk pain to see you, I truly am.” her expression was dead serious. “Even If I die here.”
but then her smile returned.
"I met with my psychic instructor and contacted Misao… She apologized and promised I wouldn’t get hurt here. she put an emergency barrier thing that will activate if you or anyone lashes out…."
her hand began hurting again and she held back tears from the pain. she bit her lip, trying to keep the pain hidden from him.
He stopped there.
He could see that her wound still caused her pain, even though she did try to hide it. He was unsure if this would be best. He still felt very weak, so he didn’t know if he could be able to protect her for a while.
He felt scared for her.
He was scared that she would die, scared that he would ruin her life, scared that she would get hurt again,
And most of all…
He was scared that he would be the one to hurt her.
He didn’t know how to comfort her or her wound, or on anything that seemed to bother her, for that matter… But since she seemed intent on staying, he decided to let her, despite his worst fears.
"Then you can stay here as long as you’d like." He said, giving her a worried smile.
"Takano, is there anything I can get you to ease you of your pain?"
Takano nodded. “ye-” then, she collapsed. Infection had gotten to her. Her forehead was hot with a burning fever and her cheeks were rosy red. Maybe he could help her, she didn’t know. or maybe she would die. Although Hideki was unaware, she knew that if she died in his ‘house’ she would remain there forever as a spirit. but she didn’t want to die. she was scared to.
"Oh god, TAKANO!"
He quickly kneeled down beside her to examine her hand. It appeared to him as if she had already caught an infection. The cut was very swollen and agitated, a small trickle of blood coming from it.
He then sped to the bathroom and grabbed all that he could use. Which was a soapy washcloth, a regular wet washcloth, a dry towel, and some bandages. It wasn’t much, but hopefully it was enough to save her.
"I’m sorry, but this is going to hurt…"
He gently took her hand and rubbed the washcloth into the infected area. He was a complete amateur at this but he tried his best anyways.
"Dear god, please, PLEASE, let her live…” He muttered to himself.
He rinsed the soap off, using the other washcloth, and dried the wound with the towel. Afterwards, he bandaged it with proper bandages, to make sure she wouldn’t get infected again. He wasn’t sure if he needed any antibiotics or medicine… He would do anything to save her.
But right now all he could do was stay by her side.
she gritted her teeth as he washed it but soon it was over. ‘Hi….deki….” she attempted to speak. she wanted to tell him she loved him. she could feel her life fading but she fought to keep her eyes open. she fought for him. even though she would come back as a spirit and live with him forever, she knew her death would be hard.. at least until he noticed her spirit. “I lo…ve…. you” she was fading fast and she knew he could tell by the way he was acting.
